About Dagmar Bohlmann:

As freelance writer, yoga teacher and mother of two, Dagmar Bohlmann considers her mat a place of solace and serenity, balance and alignment. She teaches a straight forward, no frills, slow vinyasa style designed to empower beginners and intermediate students to safely connect to their bodies, become relaxed, and remain present. Because she loves trading the predictability of the yoga mat with the variability of nature, Dagmar co-founded YOGAhikes Baltimore in 2016 together with Kimberlee Strome.

In addition to her RYT500 certification through Sampoorna Yoga School in Goa, India, she received her RYT200 certification from Charm City Yoga in Baltimore (now YogaWorks). She has attended over 500 hours of training related to health, kinesiology, and anatomy and is grateful for her teachers Nicki Doane, Eddie Modestini, Kim Manfredi, Jason Crandell, Shiva Rea, Ana Forest, Sudhir Rishi, and many more.

Dagmar’s certificates include credentials from the American Counsil on Exercise, Les Mills, Johnny G, The Pilates Coach and The Dailey Method. She has been teaching group fitness, Pilates and Barre for over 20 years, turning a passion into a flexible, part-time career. With a M.A. in North American Studies from Freie Universität Berlin, Germany and a B.A. in American History from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI, she has worked in broadcast news in Canada and in the US. Her writing has been published in various local and regional magazines and newspapers.

She lives and hikes in rural Baltimore County with her loving husband, a busy teenager and their rescued dog Lucky. Dagmar believes that yoga and hiking should be part of everybody’s self-care. It would make the world a happier place.
